Ekkli Features: Everything Your Church Gets in One Platform

Ekkli features cover the whole week of running a small-to-mid-size church, not just Sunday morning. One login gives your team worship presentation, a church website, a member database, volunteer rotas, event registration, and email — instead of stitching together five separate logins and five separate bills. This page is a plain-language tour of everything included, grouped the way your team actually uses it, with a deeper page linked for each feature.

Every feature described here is real and working today — not a roadmap item. The six-month free trial covers the full platform for up to 50 people with no card required, so you can try everything in real use before deciding which paid plan you need. See pricing for the exact figures.

Worship & presentation

The tools your tech booth uses live inside Ekkli, browser-based, so nobody needs to install anything on a specific machine to run Sunday's service.

Worship display & remote control

Run song lyrics, sermon slides, and announcements from a laptop or tablet, with a stage view (confidence monitor) for your worship team and phone-based remote control for whoever's running the booth. If your Wi-Fi drops, offline HTML export means the screens keep running with zero connection needed.

Song library

Store your church's song set once and reuse it every week, with OpenLP import if you're bringing a library across from another tool, instead of rebuilding the same 40–60 songs from scratch each Sunday.

Teaching & sermon slides

Build slide decks for sermon series and teaching content alongside your worship set, so the whole service — songs, verses, sermon points, announcements — lives in one service plan.

Bible verse display

Look up and display Scripture on screen in KJV or WEB, full text, formatted and ready to project the moment your pastor says "turn to."

CCLI reporting

Ekkli reads your existing display-session history to help a CCLI-licensed church put together its Copy Activity report at reporting.ccli.com. It's a reporting aid built on data you already have, not an automatic CCLI submission.

Website & media

Your public-facing presence and your recorded content, on the same login as everything else.

Website with member portal

A church website — pages, blog/news, photo galleries, public events with iCal export, Google Maps and YouTube/Vimeo embeds, a contact form — paired with a member self-service `/me` profile, so your public site and your members' private area share the same platform. Free-tier sites run on an Ekkli subdomain with a "Powered by Ekkli" footer; paid plans add a custom domain and remove it.

Sermon & podcast hosting

Publish sermon audio for the congregation to catch up on a service they missed. The free trial keeps a rolling two-hour window of recent audio; paid plans add long-term storage (5–250 GB depending on plan) and a podcast RSS feed so your sermons can be picked up by podcast apps.

People & volunteers

The admin work of knowing who's in your church and who's serving where.

Member management & GDPR

An admin-facing membership database: self-service join via link or QR code, invitations, CSV import, and a GDPR double opt-in consent engine — built for church office admins to manage the record, not a directory members browse each other's details in.

Groups & community

Small groups with group chat and staff-managed forum boards. These are off by default per church and free to switch on — no separate module purchase required.

Volunteer rota & scheduling

Recurring rotas with confirm/decline/swap requests and reminders, so your volunteer coordinator isn't chasing people by text every week to find out who's actually showing up.

Volunteer availability

Volunteers set blockout dates so the person building next month's rota gets a warning — not a hard block — before double-booking someone who's already said they're away.

Giving & events

Two of the areas most "all-in-one" church platforms charge extra for — both are free on every Ekkli plan.

Event registration & RSVP

Sign-ups with capacity limits, a first-in-first-out waitlist once an event fills, signed cancel links for guests who register without an account, and headcount attendance tracking for the day itself.

Communications

Email campaigns

Send targeted, consent-aware email campaigns with an automatic suppression list for anyone who's opted out. Sending volume scales with your plan (from 1,000 to 50,000 sends a month); the free trial covers push notifications instead, and email campaigns unlock on paid plans. Push notifications work on every plan through Ekkli's installable app.

See it all running on your own church's data

Set up your free Ekkli account, import your song library and member list, and try worship presentation, the website, rotas, and events together — no card required.

Support, whichever plan you're on

Every church gets a self-serve knowledge base and an AI assistant that answers strictly from that knowledge base — it won't invent an answer to a question it doesn't know, and will say so honestly rather than guess. Paid plans get faster email support on top of that. There's also a community forum for churches to help each other.

What's free, what's paid

The short version: worship presentation, the church website, member management, rotas, volunteer availability, groups, and event registration are all free, on every plan, up to 50 people. What paid plans add is a custom domain with the Ekkli footer removed, email campaigns, a podcast RSS feed, long-term media storage, and higher people caps as your congregation grows — plus, on the Network plan, a hosted multi-church community layer. See the full pricing breakdown, including regional pricing for churches outside our standard pricing band.

In development, honestly

Everything above is real and working today. A few things aren't yet — we'd rather tell you plainly than let you find out after signing up. These pages exist so you can check before you commit a Sunday to switching tools.

  • SMS messaging — in development. Credit top-ups exist in Billing today; actual sending doesn't yet.
  • Kids check-in — in development. Not available on any plan today.
  • Multi-campus — in development. Today, one Ekkli account covers one church.
  • Public API — in development. No documented API for third-party integrations exists yet.
  • Custom-domain email — on our roadmap, not scheduled. This is different from the custom domain for your website, which is live on paid plans today.

Frequently asked questions

Is Ekkli really free, or is it a trial?

The free trial runs six months for up to 50 people, no card required — long enough to get through two full seasons before you decide.

Do I need different logins for the website, giving, and rotas?

No — one Ekkli account covers worship presentation, your church website, member management, volunteer scheduling, and events. There's no separate signup or separate bill per feature.

Can members browse a directory of each other's contact details?

No. Ekkli's member management is an admin-facing database for your church office, plus a private self-service profile each member manages for themselves — it isn't a public, peer-browsable member directory.

What happens to sermon audio during the free trial?

The free trial keeps a rolling two-hour window of your most recent sermon audio available. If you want a permanent archive and a podcast RSS feed, that's part of the paid plans' long-term media storage.

Which feature should I read about first?

Start wherever your church's biggest pain point is today — most churches begin with worship display if Sunday mornings are the immediate problem, or member management if it's admin and record-keeping that's overdue for a fix.

This page is maintained by the Ekkli team. If a feature you need isn't listed here, it isn't quietly hidden somewhere else in the product — ask us directly and we'll tell you plainly whether it exists, is planned, or isn't on the roadmap.
